Ed Blanton, CFP®

Ed has had a career in financial services for over 30 years. During his career, Ed has served as a General Agent for Lutheran Brotherhood as well as a Managing Partner for Thrivent Financial.  In the past,  as the General Agent for Genworth Financial’s Retail division, he and his associates earned Genworth’s Agency of the Year Award and Ed was a GAMA First in Class Award recipient.

Ed grew up in Columbia, SC.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Newberry College, where he served on the Board of Trustees from 2001-2008. Ed earned his CFP® designation in 1992 and remains active in the financial services industry.

Ed holds a series 7, 24, 63 and 65 and is approved in SC, GA, FL, NC and VA for securities sales.  Ed is approved in SC and GA for advisory business. Ed is life, health and variable insurance licensed in SC, GA, FL, NC, and VA. He is also licensed for life and health in TN. 

Ed and his wife, Beverly, have been married for over 40 years and have two sons that both live in the Charleston area.  Ed and Bev enjoy boating, golf, music, cooking and entertaining.  They especially enjoy spending time with their seven grandchildren.
